I promise, the bookmark phase is nearly over. This one was made for dear Mom. The charm is a silver (real silver) guardian angel. I wish so badly I could give a real guardian angel to her. She's been burdened with a series of health issues for the past while. Although on the mend, repeated health issues have a way of wearing down your spirit. This I speak of from experience. My dear craftin' Cousin would corroborate I'm sure. She's had a stay in the hospital, or as we call it "lock up". We've planned a mini-vacay lounging on sofas with blankets and lots of movies as part of her recovery. This time the amateur cosmetologists won't be allowed near our hair or toenails. Here's a glimpse of our last get together. It's real love to allow two preteens creative freedom when making us thirty-somethings over. Our Mom's, their dear Grandmothers, think we're crazy. Usually post makeover, we look the part!
After this one, only two more bookmarks to share. Then we'll move on to another crafting tangent. I'm way behind (as usual) on gift making. Pressing personal issues have crept up again and as enticing as craft therapy/blogging is normally, tearfully seeking refuge under the covers has been my preference. Enough of that awful topic, back to the point of this post... The music bookmark was made for dear Grayson. The charm is silver, as in real silver, not plated. It was Christmas, so I splurged! Red velvet jewelry bags adorned with glitter snowflakes made the presentation so fancy. I also made enclosure tags to avoid any "Thank you so much; what is this?" remarks. I'm drawing a blank as to how to explain the origin of the kitty bookmark. It could be the vast amounts of antibiotics (875 mg, twice a day) and steroids I'm on for a horrible sinus infection. The steroids are required when the Lupus flares. So much for losing weight. I really wanted to drop some lbs before swimsuit season. I'd lost 17 since school started back, but between Helen's yummy red velvet cake, triple crown cookies (vote against cookie dough as a fund raiser), Christmas treats and my new found love of Dr. Pepper, I've gained 12 back. Crap!
Anyhow, the extent of my Christmas crafting was bookmarks this year. This one was for dear Maw Maw. She of course called it "Daisy". The kitty is pewter and the beading is seed beads with a heart bead for accent. There are several more bookmarks to share. I must however wait until my head is less foggy to do so.
Just a quick post before leaving for Georgia later today. These dainty earrings are for my dear Sister's Granddaughter. They fulfill a promise I made in my dear Aunt's pool last summer.
I had grand intentions of making something small for everyone. At this point, I'm fortunate to be packed. Sigh. I'll be back in a week. Happy crafting till then...

I made a necklace for Dear Son's (now ex) girlfriend for Christmas. The night of the Christmas parade, it went missing. Probably dropped somewhere along the route. Dear Son insisted we replace it, even though they are now just friends. I caved and made another one, pictured above. It's a simple leather cord with an art glass & twisted wire bead. I bought the bead as is in a package in which no two beads were alike. It's rather simple, but really cute. I hope to make some more of these since they went together so quickly. I know a few little girls in our family that would like these.
After making dear Son's Bulldog Necklace, I quickly strung alphabet beads on colored cord to make a little something for his girlfriend, Heather. It was a super quick craft and she has worn it proudly ever since.
Our school mascot is a bulldog. It took me forever to find a charm that was manly enough for dear Son. I finally found this at a quaint little mom & pop shop in Anniston. Dear Son insisted on black (a phase) leather so it wouldn't itch his neck. Isn't it funny how we adults care about the look of an item, but teens want what they want and basically don't care what anyone else thinks. A little lesson learned for me.
I'm trying this time management thing. My goal is that every night I have at least 15 minutes to work on something. Today I went over because I had to gather my supplies up. My master plan is to turn our buffet area into my craft zone. Then, all of my supplies will have a home. Clearly, the pile system isn't going to work with the 15 minute plan. I am pouting about all of this conformity. Time Management. Organizing art/craft supplies. Not conducive to the creative process but I'm attempting. Pray for me.
